Dare to Disagree –  Margaret Heffernan talks about people in organizations being too afraid of conflict.  Surveys showed that 85% of American and European executives had issues or concerns at work that they are afraid to raise.  They were afraid of the conflict; afraid of the ensuing arguments they couldn’t manage; and afraid to lose.  Her suggestion is to make sure that you have someone that will question you.  She says you need to see conflict as thinking and then get really good at it.
